Assignment: write an opening statement for my WEBSITE. I need to create something that will encourage my visitor to explore what I have to offer.
As I was thinking about a possible purpose for my website – one that I can
use as an introduction – it occurred to me what a wonderful sounding board this space actually is, or at least could be – kind of a twitter or facebook outlet without the negative attachments.

As a possible positive teaser I should like to give a hint as to what kind of articles lie herein: mostly they are my travel journals describing the trips I have been privileged to go on, but there are others. The first formal paper I undertook

the game of Sudoku.
Virginia Garden Week is another of my very favorite activities but amazingly enough I have kept virtually no journal and have made no mention of it here in my Website. I think this demands to be rectified ASAP – we’ll
see how long that takes. And of course I shall be including future trips – Japan and Norway in the Winter are in the offing.
I think my journalistic style is improving.
I do hope you will join me and maybe, if you feel inspired, you
might write me a note. Thank you so very much.
